Prescription & Non-prescription Medication Procedures for 2026

Due to the recent implementation of new animal welfare legislation in Guernsey, we need to inform you about changes to how we handle and charge for prescription medication. Please advise of any medication needs at the time of booking, and fill in our medication form for each medication and/or supplement.

Packaging and Labels

•  All prescription medications and non-prescription supplements must be in the original packaging.

•  Vet Medications need to have a prescription label attached, clearly stating:

               • Pet name

               • Veterinary surgery & Prescribing vet

               • The correct dosage & Instructions for administration

If the label is not visible, you will need to obtain a new label or request a letter from your vet confirming the correct details above. Please note that we cannot do this on your behalf.

Quantity of Medication and Treats

Owners are required to provide a pet-friendly treat to aid in administering medication. We highly recommend the Arden Grange liver paste treat. Please ensure that you bring enough medication and treats for your pet, including extra supplies in case of delays. If additional medication or treats need to be collected during their stay by Four Paws, an additional charge will apply.

Medication will be charged as outlined in our pricing list.
